Solihull

Solihull is blessed by having easy access to the countryside, the city, and Birmingham Airport. There are excellent access routes to all major road networks and rail links. It is also close to the NEC.

Properties in Solihull are at a premium because this is a nice place to live. Solihull has good schools, excellent local amenities and the town council go out of their way to make the place look nice with its spectacular floral arrangments and well landscaped environment.

Solihull has existed as a settlement for several hundred years and the Anglo Saxons are known to have been living in this area. In more recent times, Solihull has acted as a popular location for the well off industrialists and financiers of nearby Birmingham. Historically Solihull has its roots in agriculture, and farming would have been the primary source of income for most families until the rapid growth of Birmingham and the arrival of the railways.

Solihull is well known for its association with Land Rover. The car company still has its manufacturing plant here. With plenty of open green spaces and shopping facilities such as the new Touchwood centre, Solihull is managing to retain its links with the past and yet adapt to the modern changes that are affecting its landscape and its inhabitants in a more beneficial way than has been experienced in other areas of the West Midlands.
