Dudley Zoo

This well known British Zoo has played host to thousands of children over the years, author of this website included. With breathtaking views over the Black Country, the zoo is built within the grounds of Dudley Castle. When you see the keep of the castle upon entering Dudley you have also found the zoo. The total site takes up an area of some 40 acres. A visit to the zoo also means a visit to the castle as the two are inseparable as any visitor will see as they weave in and out of the old walled ruins to get from one section of the zoo to another.

The zoo places an emphasis on endangered species and has an "adopt an animal programme". If you would like to find out more about this programme you can contact the zoo on 01384 215301 Dudley Zoo caters for educational groups and tours as well as for the family visitors. There are special animal talks with guides that will enhance your visit. The best time to visit the zoo is in the summer as during the winter months some animals cannot be seen outside.
