Moseley Old Hall is located on the outskirts of Wolverhampton and far enough away from the city to retain its dignity and serenity. This Elizabethan house of great character is famous for the fact that Charles II hid here after the Battle of Worcester in 1651. An exhibition in the barn provides an interesting account of the escapades of the illusive Charles as he made his escape.
The garden, as is the house, an excellent treat. The kitchen is of particular interest and in the summer months the smell of herbs and the homely atmosphere of the property with its views over the garden make this and Wightwick Manor, a definate must for a visit whilst in the West Midlands.
